Golf Tournament Helps Scholarship Fund

Jonathan Domico at Westchase Golf Club
The 11th Annual Cougar Golf Tournament was held Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Westchase Country Club in Tampa, FL. Over 100 golfers joined us this year to play golf, fellowship with friends and business partners, and to help raise monies for the CCC Scholarship Fund.

This year’s tournament proceeds will likely be the highest amount ever raised in the history of our event. Vice President for Development Terry Wild says ‘This year, assuming we receive all the funds promised, we raised over $100,000. Just think how many of our students will benefit from these funds.’

1948 Mercury gifted to college to sell
This year our tournament winners were the foursome comprised of Dwight McEntire, Adam Stuck, Tom Parsley, and Greg Blackburn (Net Score) and Jordan Craft, Levi Wild, Jonathan Domico, and Matt Bowser (Gross Score). Golfers were also able to participate in contests identified at specific holes. These included Steve Casarow (Closest to the Hole at the 7th); Don Reagan and Stephanie Shefcyk (Longest Drive-Men/Women at holes 4 and 13); Putting Contest (Casey Scott-1st place; Bob Braden-2nd place; and Steve Casarow-3rd place); and Chipping Contest, won by Mark Carter.

In addition to monies already given or pledged, the College was gifted a fully restored 1948 Mercury (see picture). Proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will go toward the Scholarship Fund. For further details regarding this car, contact Pat Squires in the Development Office.

Next year’s tournament is scheduled for November 9, 2012.
