Cougars are unsuccesful in rematch

For the first time this year Clearwater Christian played an opponent in a rematch game as they traveled to North Miami to take on Johnson and Wales University. The Cougars fell behind midway through the first half as the Wildcats hit 5 three pointers, but the Cougars closed the half on a 8-0 run to take a 44-42 lead into the break. The early part of the second half was a back and forth struggle, but as the half progressed Clearwater began to get the upper hand. The Cougars took a 10 point lead with 5:31 left in the game, but were unable to score a field goal down the stretch. Back to back 3 pointers by JWU with under a minute to go gave the Wildcats a 1 point advantage. The Cougars had one more opportunity for the win, but the shot fell short. Clearwater Christian will finish the semester with 3 exhibition games and a trip to Lake Wales to face Warner.
The Cougars had 4 players reach double digits in points. Mike Key was tops with 23 followed by Devin Paularinne with 13, Erik McRae with 12, and Tristan Shore with 11. Charlie Brown was 3 for 3 from behind the arc. Mike Key added 8 rebounds and Tristan Shore contributed 6.
