Women's Soccer Improves to 9-0

The Lady Cougars traveled to Temple Terrace on Tuesday to play a game that was originally scheduled for last week but was postponed due to the weather. Florida College is always a solid team, and the team knew it would not be an easy game.

Tori Hale opened the scoring for the Lady Cougars midway through the first half, when she finished off a pass from fellow forward Kelsey Redemann. Clearwater controlled most of the play during the first half and took the one goal lead to the half.

Kelsey Redemann didn't wait long into the second half before finding the back of the net herself. In the 53rd minute Redemann took a shot from a tough angle, and the Florida College goalkeeper got a hand on the ball but couldn't keep it out of the net. The Falcons would answer with a goal of their own in the 72nd minute, but the Lady Cougars held on for the win.

Coach Bates had this to say about the victory, "Florida College is a well coached team and they are very organized defensively so we knew coming in that they would be tough to break down. We were able to possess the ball very well tonight and make them defend the entire width of the field, eventually both our goals came from forcing their defense to spread out."

The Lady Cougars are back in action on Thursday, September 27. The team will look to get to double digit wins against Florida Christian College at Glen Oaks Park at 6:30 p.m.
