CCC Junior Receives NCCAA Athlete of the Week Award


Junior Tyler Spraul was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the week of October 26 – November 1, 2009. Each week, individual coaches are given the opportunity to nominate players based on exemplification of the Christian ideals upheld by NCCAA. Nominees are evaluated from all the weekly submissions and one student athlete is officially recognized for this honor.

In their official announcement, NCCAA cites the following: “Tyler Spraul, junior midfielder and team captain for Clearwater Christian College (FL) had an incredible South Region Tournament this past weekend. In the Cougars’ semifinal 4-2 win over Atlanta Christian College (GA), he scored on an unbelievable free kick and also had an assist. In the championship game, he had the game-winning assist in a thrilling 1-0 win over Southeastern University (FL). Tyler was also named the 2009 South Region Player of the Year and has been a huge part of the Cougars success this season as they move on to Nationals with a record of 13-1-3.”
