In agreement with Hebrews 10:25, Clearwater Christian College requires all students to attend all Sunday services at one of many local churches in the area.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:…" Attending services at a local church is an
important part of Christian growth, educational enrichment, and discovering God's will for your life. Not only does a "church home away from home"
provide you with weekly encouragement in your Christian walk, but also offers a sense of stability and belonging. You will be tremendously blessed by
the congregation at the church you choose to attend - and you will be a blessing to them as you become involved in their ministries. For a listing of
several churches near the CCC campus, please view our Community Guide.
In order to support your family's spiritual heritage, CCC asks that you attend a church with the same doctrinal position as both your home church and
the College. To help you in your search for the right church, Godly leaders at Clearwater Christian College will help you understand the purpose of the
local church and how to properly support its ministries. A special "meet and greet" with local pastors during fall orientation will help familiarize you
with available ministries and narrow down the search for your church home. You will want to make your decision early in the school year in order to get
the most out of your "church home away from home."
Choosing a church is one of the most important decisions you will make during your time at college. You probably have been attending a church of your
parent's choice during your childhood and teen years. Now is the time to make this important decision for you in an environment with broader parameters.
It is an exciting and important decision. We implore you to choose wisely because it is a decision that will mold your spiritual walk throughout your time
at Clearwater Christian College. You have the chance to make a difference in a local church of your own choosing, to grow as a child of God, and to become
a vital part in reaching local communities with the Gospel of Christ.
Parents, this is an exciting time in the life of your college student. They will be making important decisions that will affect the rest of their life
and they will need your support and prayers. Don't feel that you need to take a back seat in this decision; your counsel is necessary and encouraged.
Be interested and engaged in their decision making process, but give them freedom to make a wise decision on their own. Choosing a church home that will
help them grow as a Christian is an important part of growing up. Watch as they put the spiritual truths you taught them into practice and find a "church
home away from home."
