The Land of Narnia Awaits

Penned by C. S. Lewis in 1950, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe stands as one of the greatest allegorical presentations in modern literature. The story follows the Pevensie children - Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy - as they are sent away from London to avoid the bombings during World War II and through their journey into a magical world found in an old wardrobe. The adventure begins as the children meet the animals and characters who live in Narnia-the land behind the wardrobe. The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is an allegory of Christ's crucifixion and his substitutionary death for the sins of others.

Come join the Clearwater Christian College drama department as they present the story of the Pevensie children, Aslan the Lion, and the battle against the dark forces of the White Witch. The adaptation of C.S. Lewis' book has been prepared for the stage by Joseph Robinette and is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

The CCC production will be presented "in the round"; the audience will surround the stage. Mrs. Catherine Anthony, associate professor of English, will direct a talented cast of CCC students from a variety of majors. Mrs. Anthony has directed The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe on two other occasions, once at CCC and another in Washington, D.C.
