Keith Champion Named to the NCCAA Hall of Fame

(4/27/11) Keith Champion, Instructor of Education and ESS, Assistant Athletic Director, and Men's Basketball Coach, is a recipient of the NCCAA Hall of Fame Award.

Editor's Choice Selects Burggraff Piece

(4/26/11) Nathan Burggraff's Praise to the Lord recently received J. W. Pepper's Editor's Choice (EC) recognition with a score of 25.5 out of 30.


Casarow Conducts Workshop for Florida Music Association

(4/21/11) Dr. Pattye Casarow conducted a half-day workshop on the Kodaly Approach in Music Education for the Florida Elementary Music Educators Association.

Spring Semester Athletic Honors

Daryl Mullholand to Compete in Boston Marathon

(4/15/11) On Monday, April 18, Associate Professor and Head Athletic Trainer Daryl Mullholand will be competing in the Boston Marathon.


Cougars Hold Soccer Clinic

(4/11/11) On Saturday, March 26, the Clearwater men’s soccer team conducted a soccer clinic in Pinellas Park for the CCSP Youth Soccer League directed by assistant coach Luis Hernandez.

Vickie Denny Named Alumnus of the Year

(4/8/11) Vickie Denny, women’s volleyball coach at CCC, was recently named the Alumnus of the Year at Bob Jones University, her alma mater.

Spring Break Camp Ministry

Choir Reunion: A Resounding Success

Home Sweet Homeless

(12/21/10) Senior Tyler Spraul was recently named the 2010 National Christian College Athletic Association DII National Player of the Year for men’s soccer.

Emma Kile Named National Player of the Year

(12/16/10) Clearwater Christian College Junior Emma Kile of Butler, PA, was named the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCCAA Player of the Year.

Students Accepted to Medical Programs

Clearwater Receives SACS Reaffirmation

(12/7/10) The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges approved reaffirmation of accreditation for the next ten years for Clearwater Christian College.


Golf Tournament Well “Above Par”

(12/6/10) The Tenth Annual Cougar Classic was a resounding success! This is largely due to strong participation by those who golfed, this year’s sponsors, and the donation of a Ford Mustang Cobra.


Light the Night Walk (Sigma Delta Chi)

(11/30/10) On Saturday evening, November 6, SDC walked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in their annual Light the Night Walk to raise community awareness of cancer, leukemia, and lymphoma. They chose this community outreach because of a personal connection to a little girl battling Philadelphia Chromosome, a rare form of Leukemia.

Clearwater Christian Moves Forward with New Master Plan

(11/22/10) After years of discussion, consultation, and planning, Clearwater Christian College is moving forward with its Master Site Plan. With 138 acres adjacent to Old Tampa Bay, the College has defined a strategic plan that will maximize buildable property while preserving the natural beauty of the wetland areas that surround the campus.

Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Soccer Teams Win Nationals

(11/16/10) The Clearwater Christian College volleyball team captured another national championship banner for the fifth straight season, and the men's soccer team won its second straight NCCAA II national soccer championship.

Alumni Came To Play

(11/15/10) Our 2010 alumni basketball games are now in the history books. The evening started out with the traditional alumni women’s basketball game against the 2010 squad coached by first-year coach Melanee Halstead.

Greek Extravaganza

Cougars Dominate at the Regional Championships


(11/2/10) In NCCAA Division II South Regional play, Clearwater Christian College won two of three possible championship berths.

Hollenbach Awarded Bailey Scholarship

(10/28/10) Dexter Hollenbach, a senior at Clearwater Christian College, was selected to receive the prestigious Bailey Family Scholarship in the amount of $5,000. After becoming aware of the opportunity, Dexter submitted to the foundation a 300-word essay describing how he would use the scholarship money.

STAR Student: Andrea Dobbs


(10/21/10) This summer, Clearwater Christian College senior and pre-med major, Andrea Dobbs, completed a prestigious internship in genetic research of the causes and effects of Parkinson’s disease in conjunction with the Medical College of Georgia summer Student Training and Research (STAR) Program.

Not Your Normal Internship

(10/14/10) This summer, CCC student Shaun Stimson, a junior from North Wales, PA, spent time learning about ministry as an intern at Calvary Baptist Church in Lansdale, PA.... Shaun said, “My summer was about one thing and one thing only. It was about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people. It does not matter if the people are in my neighborhood, West Philadelphia, or Thailand....

Alpha Chi 2010

(10/7/10) On Tuesday, September 21, 2010, ten Clearwater Christian College students were inducted into the Florida Theta Chapter of the National College Honor Society, Alpha Chi. Alpha Chi is a well-known leadership society found in colleges across the country and Puerto Rico.

Livingston Elected Chairman of the Board of Financial Organizations

(09/30/10) Mr. Randy Livingston, Vice President for Financial Affairs at Clearwater Christian College, was recently elected as the Chairman of the Board of Independent Colleges and Universities Benefits Association, Inc. (ICUBA) and Florida Independent Colleges and Universities Risk Management Association, Inc. (FICURMA).

Annual Alumni Day Extravaganza

(9/9/10) The annual Alumni Day event was a resounding success! This year, the Alumni Association switched it up a bit and scheduled the alumni games over Labor Day weekend to allow for a larger turn out. This was a genius move as the 2010 Alumni Day boasted one of the best turn outs in recent years.

Denny Checks Off 800th Win

(9/1/10) On August 31, 2010, Coach Vickie Denny knocked out her 800th career win. The 2010-2011 Lady Cougars volleyball team defeated opponent South Florida Community College with a 3-0 sweep (final scores 25-13, 25-9, and 25-17). This win put Coach Denny in an elite group of coaches; only ten active coaches in the NCAA have met their 800th win, only four of which are in smaller, private, junior, or community colleges.

Run to Christ: 2010-2011

(8/31/10) The theme for the 2010-2011 school year at Clearwater Christian College was announced on August 23 during the first meeting of the faculty/staff in-service week. After reading Matthew 11:28-30, Dr. Richard Stratton charged the CCC family to Run to Christ. Several faculty and staff gave testimony of how God has worked in their lives and how they continuously Run to Christ.

CCC Ranked by U.S. News as a Best College

(8/24/10) Clearwater Christian College earned the # 42 spot among regional colleges in the South in the 2011 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News Media Group. The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 colleges and universities nationwide, are available online at www.usnews.com/colleges, and in the guidebook.

Casarow’s New Music Certification Raises the Bar

(8/3/10) Dr. Pattye Casarow, professor and chair of the department of music at Clearwater Christian College, recently completed her Level III certification in the Orff approach to music and will continue to implement these skills into the music education program.

Lady Cougars Receive Academic Award

(7/27/10) Once again, the Clearwater Christian College Lady Cougars Volleyball team has received the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. In order to be a recipient of this award, the team must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Come Bow Before the Lord: CD Now Available!

(7/21/10) The music department of Clearwater Christian College is pleased to announce the release of its newest musical CD, Come Bow Before the Lord. A collaborative effort by the College Choir, Cantorum, Orchestra, and select musicians, the CD will be a wonderful addition to any library.

While You Were Out

(7/1/10) Last summer, we worked on making Clearwater Christian College a wireless hotspot for internet users; this summer, we’ve taken on much bigger tasks involving dump trucks, drills, and dozens of paint cans. While some may believe that all activity dies on campus when the students are gone, those that remain “by the stuff” can attest to the endless activity of renovations and upgrades.
