CCC Ranked by U.S. News as a Best College

Clearwater Christian College earned the # 42 spot among regional colleges in the South in the 2011 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News Media Group. The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 colleges and universities nationwide, are available online at www.usnews.com/colleges, and in the guidebook at newsstands and bookstores.

The 2011 Best Colleges guidebook defines regional colleges as four-year institutions that “focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts.” Since these institutions attract students primarily from neighboring states, U.S. News ranks these colleges by geographic region.

Dr. Stratton, president of CCC, said “We are thankful for this recognition from U.S. News, and we view this as further evidence that Clearwater Christian College continues to offer an undergraduate education with exceptional quality and with a Christ-centered emphasis.”

The total score for each institution is based on several criteria: peer assessment of academic quality (25 percent), graduation and retention rates (25 percent), faculty resources (20 percent), student selectivity (15 percent), financial resources (10 percent) and alumni giving (5 percent). Over the past two decades, the U.S. News college ranking system has become the most comprehensive research tool for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.
