Dr. Arthur Steele, founder and chancellor of Clearwater Christian College, celebrated his 90th birthday on June 17, 2010. After a birthday lunch with President Richard Stratton and other college administrators, Dr. Steele was ushered into CCC’s coffee shop, The Cove, for a surprise party attended by staff, faculty, family, and friends. All enjoyed the fellowship with the man who labored to create a college where the principles of the Word of God are upheld and taught in every classroom.

“Stay in the Word of God. It is all that matters,” said Dr. Steele in his charge to party attendants as he addressed those gathered. While his speech was short, his simple charge resonated in the hearts of the CCC family.

In addition to the cake and fellowship, the Steele family and CCC members paused for a prayer of thanksgiving led by President Emeritus George Youstra for the way that the Lord has blessed the college since its founding in 1966. Not only has the campus grown in buildings and students, but also the college family has seen numerous answers to prayer on behalf of staff, faculty, and students. God has truly had His hand of blessing upon Clearwater Christian College; we pray that He will continue to use our family members throughout the world for the furtherance of His Word.
