Senior Music Major Accepted at Two Graduate Schools

Ryan Blakemore, senior music major, was recently accepted to two graduate schools for Piano Pedagogy, the University of South Florida and Florida State University. Part of the audition process at each university was to play three pieces of music from differing eras and styles. Looking forward to seeing God work in the next step on his educational journey, Ryan has accepted a teaching internship at FSU and will be attending in the fall.

On March 9, as part of his academic qualifications for graduation, Ryan presented his senior recital to a chapel full of friends and family.

Dr. Craig Ralston, professor of music and Chair of the Division of Fine Arts said, "Ryan has been a joy to teach in my studio the past four years. He has approached his musical studies with a seriousness and commitment that have been exemplary. Despite some serious physical struggles with tendonitis, Ryan has worked through the issues and was able to deliver one of the finest senior piano recitals we have had on this campus. With his talents, his commitment to the Lord, and a desire to truly glorify Him with his music, Ryan will accomplish great things in the years ahead. I am proud to have been his campus 'Dad' as well as mentor these past four years."

Congratulations Ryan!
