End-of-the-Year NCCAA Athletic Awards Favor CCC

The Athletic Department of Clearwater Christian College is pleased to announce the receipt of the Presidential Award for Excellence (Division II) at the Hall of Fame Banquet held by the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Presidential Award is earned through a point system based upon placement in each of the NCCAA National Championship games. CCC earned a total of 30 points from the national titles won by women’s volleyball and women’s soccer, as well as the 4th place finish of men’s baseball.

2013 also marks CCC’s third consecutive win of the Presidential Award. Once again, the athletic department is honored to have earned this esteemed award. Athletic Director Mike Touma said, “Winning this award for the third consecutive year is a testament to the dedication to the pursuit of excellence of the coaching staff and the student-athletes of Clearwater Christian College.”

In addition to the receipt of the Presidential Award, Dr. Vicki Denny, coach of the women’s volleyball team and chair of the department of exercise and sport science, received the prestigious Game Plan 4 Life award at the banquet. According to the NCCAA website, the GP4L award is given to student-athletes and athletic staff who epitomize the Christian character qualities of love, integrity, faith, and excellence.

Coach Denny said, "I am honored to be the first recipient of this annual award. I hold the values of the NCCAA highly and thank the Lord for the opportunity to be a part of such a Christ centered athletic organization."

Congratulations to the CCC athletic department and to Coach Denny!
