“We enjoy sharing holiday cheer!” said director, Dr. Pattye Casarow, professor of music and chair of the department of music. “Bells can spread cheer like no other! We appreciate the opportunity to get the name of Clearwater Christian College out in our community. It still amazes me that there are folks in our community unfamiliar with us! This is also a wonderful experience for our students, which I’m delighted they can have.”

Three-year veteran of the CCC Bell Choir, senior General Studies major Kelsi Coffman said, “It’s so wonderful to be able to share the music of handbells with the community this Christmas season! The handbells are a beautiful instrument that everyone loves to hear, especially around Christmas time. We’ve prepared lovely renditions of classic Christmas tunes for the broadcast, and I hope people will tune in and enjoy listening to them.” Kelsi began playing handbells at CCC because of her love for music.

In what will be a second-annual appearance on Good Day Tampa Bay, the handbell choir hopes to raise awareness of the college, as well as give glory to God through their musical talents. Last school year, the Bell Choir took their music ministry abroad on an outreach trip to Bursa, Turkey. Invited by the Uludag University, the team ministered through music to college students, local families, and various dignitaries on their short trip. “All of our handbell concerts in Turkey were packed!” said Kelsi. “Learning about Turkish culture, customs, and music was a wonderful experience.”

Not only have they brought cheer and goodwill to the international community, the members of the CCC Bell Choir are also anxious to share the sounds of the season with our local community. Make sure to tune in on Tuesday to support the students! Live feed during the event and archived footage after can be found at
