Perfecting Holiness: 2012-2013

The theme for the 2012-2013 school year at Clearwater Christian College has been announced! With II Corinthians 7:1 in mind, Dr. Jack Klem announced that Perfecting Holiness would not only be the theme, but also the goal for his inaugural year as president of CCC.

II Corinthians 7:1 states, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." Dr. Klem chose Perfecting Holiness as the theme because he recognizes the need to pursue holiness out of reverence to God. "The wonderful Gospel grace that delivered us out of the kingdom of darkness into a glorious union with Jesus Christ calls us to a holy life," he said.

"Holiness and holy living does not just happen in the life of the believer," said Dr. Klem. "The Scriptures appeal to us on the basis of God's character (I Peter 1:16) and on the basis of God's promises (II Corinthians 7:1) to actively live out a holy life. Holiness is not conformity to a list of human expectations; it is conformity to the person and the will of our unblemished, loving Savior, Jesus Christ."

During the 2012-2013 academic year, the faculty, staff, and student body of Clearwater Christian College will pursue holy living through the perfecting power of the Word of God. Dr. Klem states, "We will study the holiness of God, the unshakeable promises of God, and the sober warnings of God issued to those who live self-serving, unrighteous lives."
