New Pianos on Campus Thanks to Generous Donations

As a result of the generous donations at the Founders’ Banquet last spring, the music department at Clearwater Christian College was able to purchase two new pianos for faculty and student use. Approximately $13,000 was raised with the intent of purchasing one piano, but because of wise management of funds, the music department was able to secure two. These pianos will be used for special events in the Gospel Center Memorial Chapel, and in campus-wide chapel services and fine arts events in the gymnasium.

“After much shopping around, I found a wonderful 6’1” Samick grand piano,” said Dr. Craig Ralston, professor of music and chair of the division of fine arts. “With delivery, a new dolly, bench, and cover, there were still funds left over for the purchase of an upright Yamaha for chapel and concerts. We are thrilled to have these additional pianos on campus. Both pianos are top quality and will add greatly to our music performances on campus. We are thankful to all our alumni and supporters who generously gave towards these piano purchases.”

The public is always welcome in chapel services most weekday mornings at 9 a.m. Visit the Calendar of Events web page for a complete listing of dramatic and musical performances for the school year.
