Home Sweet Homeless

Each semester the social committee hosts a home style dinner affectionately known as “Home Sweet Home.” It is a chance for students to get their fill of home-baked desserts and treats as freshly baked goodies from the faculty and staff are served after dinner. In addition to the sweet treats, the focus of the spring semester event was to provide a small blessing for those that have no home.

On January 31, the Clearwater Christian College family was encouraged to bring canned or boxed non-perishable food items.

Social committee member Elaine Johnson said, “We had lots of cookies and desserts for the students for after dinner, enough left over to serve the next day at lunch. During the food drive, we filled two grocery carts to overflowing and still had more! The people at the homeless shelter were most appreciative.”

The next day the food was taken to Suncoast Haven of Rest Rescue Mission, a local homeless ministry that provides meals and a food bank for those in need.
