Thanksgiving Break 2011

Remember God's bounty in the year. String the
pearls of His favor. Hide the dark parts, except so
far as they are breaking out in light! Give this
one day to thanks, to joy, to gratitude!

~Henry Ward Beecher

A truly American holiday, Thanksgiving stands as a yearly testament to the goodness of our Heavenly Father. As the CCC family pauses to remember His bountiful blessings from the past year, we encourage students to catch up on projects and prepare for the close of the Fall semester. During this holiday, many students travel home to visit their families, while others bring friends home to enjoy fellowship outside of the college environment.

Thanksgiving Break begins after each student's last class on Friday, November 18. Airline flights or other methods of transportation should be scheduled with this in mind. A double absence policy is in effect for November 17-18 and November 28-30 to assure reasonable class sizes before and after the break. Resident students are asked to inform the office of their departure and destination plans prior to leaving campus.

The residence halls will be officially closed to students at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19. Students are not permitted to stay in the residence halls over the break unless they are employed by the institution during this period. The College will close administrative offices on November 23-25 to allow staff to join their families during this time.

Resident students are required to return to the residence halls no later than 10:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28. Classes will resume on Tuesday morning, November 29. Monday evening courses will meet on Tuesday evening, November 29, at 6:00 p.m.
