Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving is a special time for families and friends to come together and thank the Lord for the blessings and challenges of the past year. It is also a good time for students to catch up on projects and to take a breath before the semester closes. A number of students use this time to bring friends home to meet their families and to enjoy themselves outside of the college environment.

Thanksgiving Break begins after each student's last class on Friday, November 20. Careful attention should be taken to book airline flights or arrange rides with friends in light of student responsibilities on this day. A double absence policy is in effect for November 19-20 and November 30-December 2 to assure reasonable class sizes before and after the break. Resident students are asked to inform the office of their departure and destination plans prior to leaving campus. Students needing assistance in this area should contact the dean of women or dean of men.

The residence halls will be officially closed at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, for any students with late airline reservations. Students are not permitted to stay in the residence halls over the break unless they are employed by the institution during this period. The College will close administrative offices on November 25-27 to allow staff to join their families during this time.

Classes will resume on Monday night, November 30, at 6:00 p.m. (Monday evening courses). Resident students are required to return to the residence halls no later than 10:30 p.m.
