Important Dates and Times (Fall 2012)

The following arrival information provides a chronological outline of when specific student groups are expected to arrive on campus for student check-in, required orientation activities, and if applicable, to complete matriculation for the 2012 fall semester. It does not serve as an exhaustive schedule of required or optional activities. A current schedule of these activities will be provided to students upon arrival.

NEW COMMUTER STUDENTS - Thursday, August 9

o Check-in between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Dambach Hall - Room 101

o Brunch - 10:35-11:45 a.m. (complimentary for students & families)

o English and Math Placement Test(s) (required of select students already notified by Advising/Academics) - required to arrive at 8:30 a.m. - Dambach Hall - Room 110

o New Student Orientation Meeting (required) from 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

• Open House Reception in the Cove for all commuters on Thursday, August 23, after required Convocation (7 p.m.)

FALL STUDENT ATHLETES - Thursday, August 9

o All athletes trying out for men's or women's soccer, volleyball, or golf

o Check-in between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Dambach Hall - Room 101

o Brunch 10:35-11:45 a.m. (complimentary for students & families)

o English and Math Placement Test(s) (required of select students already notified by Advising/Academics) - required to arrive at 8:30 a.m. - Dambach Hall - Room 110

o New Student Orientation Meeting (required) from 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

NEW RESIDENT STUDENTS - Monday, August 20

o Check-in between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Steele Hall

o Lunch - 12:30-2:30 p.m. (complimentary for students & families)

o English and Math Placement Test(s) (required of select students already notified by Advising/Academics) - required to arrive at 2:30 p.m. English Placement Testing will be in Dambach Hall - Room 110 and Math Placement Testing will be in Dambach Hall - Room 114.

o New Student Orientation (required) 4:15 p.m. in the college gymnasium. Other required orientation activities will continue through Tuesday, August 21. A detailed schedule of activities will be given at Check-in.

RETURNING RESIDENCE HALL STUDENTS - Tuesday, August 21

o Check-in between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Steele Hall

o Campus Workers Meeting- if interested attend required meeting at 2:30 p.m.

o Dorm Meeting (required) - 10:00 p.m.

RETURNING COMMUTER STUDENTS - Tuesday, August 21

o Only come if any of the following apply:

• you have not submitted your Matriculation forms on the CougarWeb
• you have not communicated with the Business Office

o Note: You do not need to attend Check-in if your Matriculation status on your CougarWeb shows all green checks; however, admission to your CCC classes is dependent on you finishing these items on the Matriculation Tab.

o Open House Reception in the Cove for all commuters on Thursday, August 23 after required Convocation (7 p.m.)

FIRST DAY OF CLASSES - Wednesday, August 22

o Consult your schedule of classes and the CougarWeb for further details.
