The Christian Life and Kingdom Living 2009 Spring Christian Life Conference

Dr. Matthew Hoskinson
At Clearwater Christian College, special conferences are held throughout the year for personal enrichment and spiritual growth. The Spring Christian Life Conference will be held January 19-22, 2009 and will feature Dr. Matthew Hoskinson, Pastor of Ministry Vision at Heritage Bible Church in Greer, SC. The theme of this year's conference is The Christian Life and Kingdom Living. Dr. Hoskinson will be presenting a four-part series on the matter of assurance. "I remain deeply concerned particularly for young, second-generation Christians who have a poor understanding of this doctrine. I hope by God's grace to give the students a Scriptural theological framework in which to understand this issue."

Dr. Hoskinson was born in Michigan and came to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of eight. In 2004 while he was working on his Ph.D., the leadership of Heritage Bible Church asked him to serve as Youth Pastor of their church. Earlier this year, he began his transition into his current position. This transition has been slowed by chemotherapy treatments as he learned this June that he has Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is anticipated that his physical experience with this disease will have an impact on his ministry with our students. He and his wife Kimberly have three daughters.

Services will be held each day during the regular chapel hour featuring Dr. Hoskinson. In addition, classes will be suspended on Tuesday, January 20, to extend conference opportunities throughout the day (see schedule below) and will feature additional speakers participating in the college's Seminary Recruitment Conference. These speakers will present timely messages that cover issues related to Christian responsibility, godly citizenship, cultural changes and the Christian's response, and 'Kingdom ethics.' The public is invited to attend.
