Artisans in Brass Announce Concert at CCC

Clearwater Christian College will host the musical group Artisans in Brass for an evening concert on October 13 as part of the 2009-2010 Fine Arts Series.

Dr. Phil Golson, associate professor of music at Clearwater Christian College, is a member of Artisans in Brass, an ensemble of Christian musicians dedicated to bringing exquisite musical stylings to local and national venues.

Artisans in Brass not only features Phil Golson, but also former CCC professor Rick Nichols. According to the Artisans in Brass website, "The quintet's history dates to 2001 when George Dougherty first contacted Rick Nichols about assembling a group of like-minded brass players to explore and create a sacred and classic repertoire." Present members of the group include George Dougherty, Richard Nichols, Fred Powell, Dave Brown, and Philip Golson.

Artisans in Brass has released their first CD Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs, now available for purchase. After the concert, the CD will be available in the Campus Store. You may also purchase it online at the Artisans in Brass website, www.artisansinbrass.com.

Plan to be a part of this musical experience on October 13, 2009 at 7 p.m. Tickets ($10/$8 seniors, students, alumni, military) will be available for purchase in the college bookstore beginning at 6 p.m. on the evening of the performance. No advance tickets will be sold.
