CCC Recognizes Academic Achievement

(6/28/10) The 2010 Spring semester recipients of Clearwater Christian College’s President’s and Dean’s Lists have been announced. Full-time, degree-seeking students sustaining a 3.900 GPA are eligible to receive the President’s List recognition. Those full-time, degree-seeking students who sustain a 3.500 GPA, but not greater than 3.899 are eligible to receive the Dean’s List recognition.

CCC Athletic and Spiritual Excellence Awarded

(6/15/10) On Friday, June 4, the National Christian College Athletic Association presented Clearwater Christian College with the highly sought after Sports Ministries Award for the 2009-2010 athletic year.

Senior ESS Majors Present Research Studies

(5/18/10) As one of Clearwater Christian College’s most popular majors, the bachelors’ of science in Exercise and Sport Science requires students to complete a number of different hands-on experiments during their four-year course of study. The capstone of this pursuit is a Senior Seminar research study requirement that is presented by the students at the end of their final semester.

Kirkley Receives First All-American Title

(5/17/10) Sophomore pitcher and shortstop, Brent Kirkley was recently named All-American by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the 2009-2010 baseball season.

Two Cougars Earn Scholar Athlete Title

(5/17/10) Senior pitcher Mark Rawsthorne and junior first and third baseman Luke Harding were awarded the Scholar Athlete title by the National Christian College Athletic Association for their performances on the baseball field during the 2009-2010 season.

College Celebrates 42nd Commencement

(5/12/10) The faculty and staff of Clearwater Christian College are pleased to announce the successful commencement of the Class of 2010.

Bubbles for the Banquet

(5/12/10) On Saturday, April 17, the Junior Class hosted a car wash to raise money for the Junior/Senior Banquet and enjoyed a day full of suds and surprises.

Student Led Service at Local Church

(5/11/10) In April, a group of CCC students took part in a special service at New Testament Baptist Church, Largo, FL, and helped reawaken a faded tradition.

Athletic Awards Reception

(5/4/10) On Tuesday, April 27, the Athletic Department of Clearwater Christian College hosted an awards reception in Cathcart Dining Hall. During the evening, athletes from both winter and spring sports were presented with the yearly awards.

New Hall of Fame Inductees

(5/4/10) On Thursday, April 29, the Athletic Department of Clearwater Christian College inducted two students into the Hall of Fame. Seniors Chrissie Sugimoto and Alyssa Hallice are the two newest members of the prestigious athletic club and are among the “best of the best.”

Underwater Adventure Prepares Students for the Future

(4/27/10) On Monday, April 19, Dr. Phil Larsen, professor of education and chair of the division of education, took his Methods of Teaching Elementary Science class on a field trip to the Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota.

KAX, SGC, and ZAX Claim Intramural Titles

(4/24/10) The Greek Intramural Athletic season has come to a close with many exciting moments. The season end put women’s Greek KAX taking first place in both volleyball and basketball, while men’s Greek SGC took first in volleyball and ZAX in basketball.

Annual Mathematics Presentation Days: Formula for Success

Goff Recognized by Florida Fund

(4/14/10) Elementary Education major, Nicole Goff was recently awarded the CCC Scholar of the Year award and the Minority Teachers Educational Scholarship by the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers (FFMT).

ROTC Cadet Observes Aircraft Refueling

(4/12/10) On March 26, sophomore ROTC cadet, Jedidiah Sturgis, took part in a USAF training mission. He had the privilege to fly on an Air Force KC-135 refueling tanker as part of an orientation flight for the detachment.

Men's Basketball Players Receive National Honors

(3/30/10) Junior guard Mike Walker and sophomore guard Matt Wells were awarded the Scholar Athlete title by the National Christian College Athletic Association for their performances on the basketball court during the 2009-2010 season.

Commencement Honors Recital

(3/29/10) The Music Department would like to congratulate the winners of the 2010 Commencement Honors Recital competition. The winners have earned the privilege of performing in the highlight recital of the year on April 20, 2010.

Senior Music Major Accepted at Two Graduate Schools

(3/26/10) Ryan Blakemore, senior music major, was recently accepted to two graduate schools for Piano Pedagogy, the University of South Florida and Florida State University.

SDC Brings Bagels to Fire House

(3/26/10) In a regularly scheduled community service activity, the women's greek, SDC, brought Panera bagels to the firemen at Firestation 49.

Unforgettable Event Enjoyed by College Family

(3/26/10) Friday, March 5 was a truly unforgettable night on campus. For over 2½ hours, CCC students took the stage and "strutted their stuff" in front of a packed house. With numbers ranging from musicals to opera, attendees enjoyed the musical stylings of CCC students, staff, and faculty.

(3/26/10) On March 2, senior music major, Elizabeth Perry, presented her senior recital to a full chapel of friends, family, and guests.

CCC Sophomore Receives NCCAA Athlete of the Week Award

(3/4/10) Sophomore Brent Kirkley was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the week of February 22-28, 2010.

Students Show Support for FRAG

(2/23/10) Imagine what would happen to private higher education in Florida if the state did away with the FRAG (Florida Resident Access Grant)? In today’s economy, every state legislature is trying to cut costs in light of declining revenues. Many legislators lobby for their cause or against another’s. For this reason, former CCC President Dr. George D. Youstra traveled to Tallahassee with seniors Michael Kleer of Miami and Music Brunetto of Clermont to meet with state legislators to stress the merits of the FRAG.

Volleyball Team Serves Up Another Victory

(2/17/10) Although the season ended in November, the Lady Cougars Volleyball Team recently scored another victory—this time in the classroom.

CCC Junior Receives NCCAA Athlete of the Week Award

(11/5/09) Junior Tyler Spraul was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the week of October 26 – November 1, 2009.

Cougars Succeed at Regional Championships

(11/3/09) The volleyball team and men's soccer team won the NCCAA II regional tournaments, and they will be competing along with the women's soccer team in the NCCAA II national championship tournaments on November 12-16, 2009.

NCCAA II Honor Bestowed on Sophomore Hitter

(10/21/09) Sophomore Emma Kile was named the NCCAA II player of the week. The sophomore middle hitter had an outstanding week and helped lead Clearwater Christian College to a 6-1 win/loss record. She is a great asset to her team and has dominated both offensively and defensively in each game.

Alpha Chi 2009

(10/6/09) On Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 12 Clearwater Christian College students were inducted into the Florida Theta Chapter of the National College Honor Society, Alpha Chi.
