Senior Midfielder Receives NCCAA Athlete of the Week Award


Senior Midfielder Tyler Spraul was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the week of October 4-10, 2010. Each week, individual coaches are given the opportunity to nominate players based on exemplification of the Christian ideals upheld by NCCAA. Nominees are evaluated from all the weekly submissions and one student athlete is officially recognized for this honor.

In their official announcement, NCCAA cites the following: “Tyler Spraul, senior midfielder for Clearwater Christian College (FL) scored a hat trick as the Cougars defeated Ohio Christian University 4-0 in a rematch of the 2009 national NCCAA semifinal match. Tyler also scored a goal as Clearwater defeated Johnson Bible College 7-0. With the win, Clearwater improved to 10-2 on the season and is currently ranked #1 in the most recent NCCAA DII coach’s poll."
