CCC Sophomore Receives NCCAA Athlete of the Week Award


Sophomore Brent Kirkley was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for the week of February 22-28, 2010. Each week, individual coaches are given the opportunity to nominate players based on exemplification of the Christian ideals upheld by NCCAA. Nominees are evaluated from all the weekly submissions, and one student athlete is officially recognized for this honor.

In their official announcement, NCCAA cites the following: “Brent Kirkley, sophomore pitcher for Clearwater Christian College (FL) struck out 14 of the 21 batters he faced in a complete game 7-1 win over Cedarville University (OH) on Saturday.” Brent’s pitching helped the Cougars sweep Cedarville University.
