Volleyball Student Athlete of the Week: Evie Compton

GREENVILLE, SC—The NCCAA has named Clearwater senior Evelyn Compton as the Student Athlete of the Week for NCCAA II Volleyball. Last weekend, the veteran setter led the volleyball team to a clean sweep at the South Regional Startup Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. CCC went 5-0 over the weekend and didn’t drop a set.

Supported by strong play from her teammates, Evie was able to put up some solid numbers. She averaged over 9 assists per game and served 97% with 6 kills. Her consistent setting also helped the team have a 44% kill efficiency.

So far this season, Evie has been the leader to the success of the Lady Cougar offense. Evie is this year’s team captain, and with continued leadership, supported by incredible talent and play, the CCC volleyball team is expected to go far once again. CCC is currently 10-0.

Evie, who is from Titusville, Florida, is studying Exercise and Sport Science at CCC.
