Kile Receives NCCAA Highest Honor
At its national convention held on June 1, 2012, in Greenville, SC, the National Christian College Athletic Association recognized Emma Kile (’12) as the female recipient of the Game Plan 4 Life (GP4L) Character Award for 2011-12. This prestigious award recognizes NCCAA student-athletes who epitomize the Christian character qualities of love (I Corinthians 13), integrity (Job 27:5), faith (Hebrews 11) and excellence (Philippians 4:8). It is considered the highest honor that the NCCAA awards its student-athletes.
An elementary education major from Butler, PA, Emma embodies what the GP4L is all about as she lives out the four qualities of the award. Being the lone senior on the Clearwater Christian College Volleyball team this past season, Emma’s leadership was vital to her team winning another national title. Emma was not simply a leader, but a servant leader to her team, as well as the entire college family. Emma excelled on the court as a NCCAA All-American and player of the year, while also performing in the classroom as a scholar-athlete and member of the dean’s list. Athletic Director Keith Champion commented about Emma, “Whether it is in the classroom, on campus, or on the court, Emma has impacted her campus, and those around her, for the Lord during her years at Clearwater Christian College.”
Dr. Vickie Denny, Emma’s coach for the past four years, was present at the banquet where Emma received her award and said, “Of all the awards that Emma has received over her four years as a CCC student, this one is the highlight because it honors what Emma is all about--love, integrity, faith, and excellence.”
Clearwater Christian College congratulates Emma and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jared Kile, on this outstanding honor.
