Johnston Accepted at UF
After being accepted at four different graduate school programs, Melissa Johnston (‘11) recently announced that she will be attending the University of Florida in Gainesville to pursue a master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology. Regarding this decision, Melissa is quoted saying “At this point, I am unsure if I want to pursue Epidemiology further and get my Ph.D., or if I want to go into dentistry; however, I do know that I want to go into one of those fields after I finish my two years in grad school.” The other schools that also accepted Melissa were the University of North Florida, the University of West Florida, and Florida State University.
In contemplating her time at Clearwater Christian College and her future aspirations, Melissa states “Clearwater prepared me very well [and helped] me get into grad school. [Faculty such as] Dr. Peters, Dr. DeWitt, and Dr. Henry were my biggest supporters. They were more than willing to help me in any way possible. Dr. Peters was especially helpful as she helped me write my statement of purpose. My ultimate goal is to help those who are less fortunate than me. I strongly believe in helping people with their physical needs in order to help them with their spiritual need, salvation.”
Congratulations, Melissa.
