Mr. Robert Carver
Associate Professor of Greek and Bible
One day he walks into class in full costume, playing the role of an old-style German theologian. For the next hour, he challenges
students to defend the writings of Paul the Apostle. Another day he dresses up like a first-century Judaizer and debates students
about law and grace.
Some of Mr. Carver’s former students now tackle Bible research and translation, while others teach or preach in churches and schools.
And yes, several have been inspired to teach in costume as well.
Outside the classroom, you might catch him riding his bicycle on local trails, where he’s logged thousands of miles.
“Sometimes I’ll meet another bike rider and ask: ‘What’s your final destination?’ It gives me a chance to share my faith in Christ.”
