Women's Soccer Season Outlook (2010-2011) The 2010 season should be a continuation of the improvement and dedication indicated by the success of the 2009 squad. With six more wins than the 2008 season, and an upset victory in the Region Tournament that earned an at large bid into the National Tournament, the Lady Cougar's Soccer Team is on their way to greater things. While the loss of 5 seniors opens the door for some new players to make an impact on the season, several returning freshman and sophomores will challenge for starting roles. Recruitment is also going well with player commitments from North Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Florida. We are looking for great leadership from Senior All-Region players Anna Lufkin and Andrea Williamson, as well as All-American Andrea Dobbs. Transfer Joanna Switzer and returners Ahna Boley, Lydia Twigg, and Samantha Tierney should round out a solid defense.
Our first goal of the year is to bring glory to God through the opportunity of athletic competition and other venues that He gives us. We will strive to achieve the highest level of play possible with the goal of winning the South Region and returning to the National Championship Tournament to win it for the first time. | | Quick Links Home News Recognitions Recruiting Questionnaire Schedules and Scores Season Outlook Season Review Team Coaches Team Photos Team Roster Team Statistics
Cougar Spotlight
It is such an honor to represent the college as a CCC athlete. I'm not great at music or lots of other things, but I have always loved sports. For me, playing for CCC allowed me to use the talent that God has given me to glorify Him. To be a Christian athlete carries with it a greater responsibility because we are carrying the name of Christ as we play. more...When I play, I play with the thought that this is the job God has given me to do at that time. As a Christian who carries the name of Christ, my job is to do my "whatsoever" as best I can for His Glory. I have also learned to trust God through it all, no matter what comes. Athletics have always been a huge part of my life, but playing collegiate soccer was challenging and rewarding. |
