This is the third year Coach Williams has led the Lady Cougar basketball program. The last two years have shown great improvement with the Lady Cougar’s reaching the Region Championship game last year losing to the third ranked team in the country. Before assuming the head coaching responsibilities for the Lady Cougars, he was the assistant coach for the CCC men’s basketball team, and for three years he helped the team reach two national tournaments.

Before coaching at the college level, Coach Williams spent 12 years at the public school level in Minnesota, coaching at three different high schools. From 1987 to 1990 he was a teacher/coach in Oak Forest, Illinois, at Oak Forest Christian Academy. In 2001, he pioneered the Martial Ball training system, "The Martial Arts of Basketball.”

Coach Williams has also coached the West Central Storm AAU basketball team for three years. The Storm were ranked 10th in the state’s toughest division. Eight of those players went on to play college ball, six at Ridgewater Community College in Willmar, Minnesota, where they placed third in the National JUCO tournament.

In addition, he was the head girls' fast pitch softball coach at Montevideo High School in Minnesota for three years.
