Volleyball Season Review
(2012)

The Lady Cougars recorded one of their most successful seasons during the 2012 season, capturing 41 wins with only 6 losses. As the winner of the NCCAA II National Tournament for the 7th consecutive year, the CCC women's volleyball team thanks God for another successful season. According to Coach Denny, "God showed favor on us this season and allowed us to win another championship. We thank Him for such blessings."

This year the team's Bible study focused on Romans 12, and the team theme was "One Another" with verse ten stating: "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Some highlights of the season included: recording 41 victories and beating many solid NAIA, NCAA III, and NJCAA teams. The CCC Lady Cougars beat several nationally ranked top 20 NJCAA programs and went 21-5 against scholarship teams. Within the NCCAA II, the Cougars dominate play continuing with a 136 match win streak since 2006.

According to Coach Denny, "This past year's team ranks among some of the best here at CCC. We recorded another 40 plus win season and won Nationals for a record seven times in a row with a total of 12 NCCAA National Championship titles since 1995. Besides the athletic accomplishments, the team continues to excel in the classroom with a team G.P.A. of 3.50, and of course the Lord continues to teach us many life lessons through the sport. In addition to all these blessings, the ultimate goal of the volleyball program at CCC is to strive to do our best for the Lord in everything because He alone is worthy."

Cougar Spotlight

God has given me the opportunity to play both basketball and volleyball here at CCC, and I am so thankful! The girls I've had the privilege to play sports with are my closest friends. Every day before practice, we share prayer requests, praises, or a passage from God's Word. It's awesome being challenged by my own teammates to grow more Christ-like through playing basketball and volleyball. I will never forget the memories I've made and the blessings I've received while playing sports.
