Volleyball Season Outlook (2010-2011) The 2010-2011 season promises to be another exciting time for the Lady Cougars. With two returning AVCA All-Americans as primary hitters, junior Emma Kile and sophomore, Richelle Bucklin, and senior Elisabeth Ennis leading the team as the 5-1 setter, the Cougars will have some key positions covered as they begin another year.
The Lady Cougars plan to continue their winning tradition as new key players join the returning players from last year's squad. With another highly competitive schedule against several scholarship programs lined up, CCC will need to work hard to accomplish the goals they have set for the season. This year the team finishes their bible study in Colossians and the team verse is Col 4:2, "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving." While Physical Training is important, so is our Spiritual Training: Prayer and Thanksgiving.
Coach Denny's goal for the 2010-2011 season is to glorify God in everything, but especially on the volleyball court, a goal that fits perfectly with this year's theme- PT. "Every year, my prayer is that whether we win a national championship or not, above all else, we would glorify God and play our very best for Him."

Playing intercollegiate sports while at CCC has been a blessing. I have learned that as a Christian, I need to strive to be more like Christ. As He works in my life, I am molded to be more like Him, but as an athlete, I am competitive and often resistant to the molding. At CCC, I have come to realize that these two areas cannot be separated. more...On the playing field, there are many things that often reveal the sinful state our of lives. Our sport is just another avenue for God to work in our life. My team members have impacted my life more than any other girls on our campus. They are like my sisters, and can tell before I share when I am struggling. They are always there with encouraging words of the Lord. I will never forget the times that I have spent with them. |
