Volleyball Season Outlook
(2012-2013)
The 2012-2013 season promises to be another exciting year for the Lady Cougars. A solid core of returners will bring maturity to this year's squad,
and some new players will have the opportunity to contribute as well. The team will look to their two AVCA All-Americans, senior Richelle Bucklin and
junior, Sarah Wild to lead in the offensive attack, along with the experience of seniors Amanda Ison and Georganna Little. The junior class of Dana
Medich, Kim Ponce, and Amanda Bucklin will also need to step up and lead the team both offensively and defensively for another successful season.
The Lady Cougars plan to continue their winning tradition as new key players join the returning players from last year's squad. Sophomores Christen
Johnson and Lauren Coulter will return for a second season and have worked hard to break into the starting line-up. Other promising newcomers include
Meridith Doerstling from Southwest Florida Christian Academy, Kaitlin Lowery from Cross Lanes Christian School, WV and Emily Osborne from Community Christian
School of Bradenton. With another highly competitive schedule against several scholarship programs lined up, CCC will need to work hard to accomplish
the goals they have set for the season. This year the team will focus on the theme, "one another" and study several Bible passages with that focus.
As Coach Denny begins her 24th year leading the Lady Cougars' Volleyball Team, her goal remains the same for the program; "we want to glorify God in
everything we do, but especially on the volleyball court. Every year, my prayer is that whether we win a national championship or not, above all else,
we would glorify God and play our very best for Him. We want to use our sport as an avenue for God's glory and not our own."

Cougar Spotlight
God has given me the opportunity to play both basketball and volleyball here at CCC, and I am so thankful! The girls I've had the privilege
to play sports with are my closest friends. Every day before practice, we share prayer requests, praises, or a passage from God's Word. It's
awesome being challenged by my own teammates to grow more Christ-like through playing basketball and volleyball. I will never forget the
memories I've made and the blessings I've received while playing sports.
