Denny Checks Off 800th Win
(9/1/10) On August 31, 2010, Coach Vickie Denny knocked out her 800th career win. The 2010-2011 Lady Cougars volleyball team defeated opponent South Florida Community College with a 3-0 sweep (final scores 25-13, 25-9, and 25-17). This win put Coach Denny in an elite group of coaches; only ten active coaches in the NCAA have met their 800th win, only four of which are in smaller, private, junior, or community colleges.

Landslide Victory for CCC Volleyball
(8/31/10) The CCC volleyball team opened up their 2010 home schedule with a solid victory over South Florida Community College, 25-13;25-9;25-17. The Cougars came out with strong serving by Emma Kile and Liz Ennis early in the match to take the Panthers completely out of their offense. The victory was a total team effort with the team averaging over 10 kills per game and 22 digs.

Fierce Competition in Weekend Tournament
(8/28/10) The 2010 volleyball season opened in a highly competitive NAIA tournament at Webber International University. The Lady Cougars played an aggressive five sets with Webber, lost to Warner University in three sets, but came back to win the last match against rival Southeastern University.

Lady Cougars Receive Academic Award
(7/27/10) Once again, the Clearwater Christian College Lady Cougars Volleyball team has received the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. In order to be a recipient of this award, the team must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

CCC Athletic and Spiritual Excellence Awarded
(6/15/10) On Friday, June 4, the National Christian College Athletic Association presented Clearwater Christian College with the highly sought after Sports Ministries Award for the 2009-2010 athletic year.

Cougar Spotlight



Playing intercollegiate sports while at CCC has been a blessing. I have learned that as a Christian, I need to strive to be more like Christ. As He works in my life, I am molded to be more like Him, but as an athlete, I am competitive and often resistant to the molding. At CCC, I have come to realize that these two areas cannot be separated.
