Cougars Take Titons in Three

Clearwater Christian College travelled down to St. Petersburg to compete with the cross town Titons on Tuesday night. CCC had already beaten the SPC twice this season, but that did not mean they took their opponents lightly. According to Coach Denny "St. Pete has a very talented lineup and has played some consistent ball this season. Each time we have played them, they have improved, and tonight was their sophomore night so we did not want to go into their gym unprepared." The Cougars matched up nicely with SPC and throughout set one the score stayed close until Clearwater pulled out ahead and finished 25-18. During set two, the CCC team became a little flat while St. Pete began finding their offense. The Cougars fell behind during the midpoint of the set, but eventually squeaked out the win, 25-22. During the final set, the Clearwater team pulled out ahead and took the set 25-15.

The Cougars were again led by junior Middle Hitter, Emma Kile with 14 kills and 10 digs (another double/double match) and senior setter, Liz Ennis who tallied 27 assists, five kills, 12 digs and served 14 times for the match. The Cougars are now 35-8 as they head up to North Carolina to compete in the NCCAA II South Regional Tournament this weekend.
