Another Day and Another Split Decision

The Cougars came back for day two at the HCC Halloween Tournament and finished with another split decision. This tournament is always a highlight for the Lady Cougars as they face off against some of the best NJCAA I teams in the country. During match one the Cougars dominated play against Pensacola Community College, winning in three straight sets. Later in the afternoon, CCC faced off against Florida State College at Jacksonville, who is currently ranked 14th in the NJCAA I polls. During game one, the two teams battled back and forth throughout with several lead changes. The Jacksonville team was able to secure win with some explosive offense at the end of game one. The Cougars struggled in set two and were never able to gain an advantage. During the third set the CCC team rallied and was able to keep the score close, but in the end, FSCJ and their front line was just too much for the Lady Cougars to handle as they dropped three straight sets. Emma Kile was again the leader for CCC by posting her fourth double/double for the tournament and also contributed with some key serving points.

The Cougars are now 34-8. They travel to Saint Petersburg College on Tuesday before heading up north to compete in their NCCAA II South Region Tournament next weekend.
