Cougars Win in Three Straight

For the third time this season the Lady Cougars faced off against NAIA opponent Ave Maria, and for the third time this season Clearwater won. The home team started off with some strong serving from Amanda Ison in set one to establish control of the match early. During the second set, the Gyrenes had the best showing keeping the score close but CCC eventually won 25-21 behind some great blocking from Richelle and Amanda Bucklin and Emma Kile and floor defense by Danielle Heffernan and Kim Ponce. During set three, Coach Denny was able to clear her bench allowing freshmen some playing time. In fact, the final match point came from a dig from Taylor Gordon and kill by Dana Medich.

The Cougars are currently 27-6 as they begin a four match home stretch this weekend.
