Cougars Take Falcons in Three Straight


What proved to be a an exciting home match of back and forth volleyball, the Lady Cougars beat Florida College in three straight sets. The Cougars jumped out to a 6-0 lead in set one before the Falcons found their rhythm and settled into a good first set. During set two the Cougars were led by some outstanding defensive plays by Liz Ennis who finished with 15 digs for the match. Set three found CCC behind 8-15 before they turned the tide and began to play some great backrow defense by libero, Danielle Heffernan who finished with 10 digs for the set, and 20 for the match. Sophomore Georganna Little came off the bench and contributed two kills and six straight serves, to get the score to 19-20. Richelle Bucklin came up big with critical blocks and kills down the home stretch, and the home team was able to win set three 25-22.

The Cougars are now 22-5 as they head into their very competitive invitational tournament this weekend.
