Cougars Start Off Road Trip With A Win

The women's volleyball team took to the road for a three day trip and started with a solid victory over NAIA opponent, Ave Maria. The squad started out strong with solid serving by Danielle Heffernan to get out to a 8-0 in set one and never looked back, winning 25-8. During game two the Cougars continued to dominate play taking that set, 25-15. During the final game, Ave Maria's offense began to produce forcing the Cougars to play harder. Both teams battled back and forth with several lead changes. Kim Ponce came up big towards the end to get CCC the run they needed to eventually take the final set 25-22. Emma Kile again led the team with over 4 kills per game and Liz Ennis contributed with 3 kills and 9 sets per game.

The Cougars are in Avon Park over the next two days to compete in a tournament at South Florida Community College. Their first match of the day will be against Pasco Hernando Community College who took the Cougars in three straight sets two weeks ago.
