Cougars Dominant in 6-0 Win Over Toccoa


(9/11/10) The Clearwater Christian College men's soccer team defeated Toccoa Falls College 6-0 to pick up their 3rd win of the season and open their region schedule with a dominant win. Drew Custer and Brian Waddle led the Cougars with 2 goals each for the Cougars while Paul Vanaman added 2 assists.

The Cougars opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Drew Custer blasted a left footed shot past the TFC keeper off an assist from Brian Chidarikire. Tyler Spraul added to the lead in the 36th minute, taking a pass from Carl Lassegue and beating the keeper with a sliding shot. Shortly after halftime, Custer made it 3-0, scoring on a through ball from Paul Vanaman. Vanaman would also set up the 4th goal when he blew by the TFC defender to get to goal where his shot was deflected by the TFC keeper but Carl Lassegue was there to clean it up and finish. Waddle would score the final 2 goals of the match, the first coming on a beautiful build up between Lucas Hollenbach and Carl Lassegue that resulted in a goal-scoring header from Waddle in the 68th minute.

For the match, the Cougars outshot the Eagles 13-1, and Anthony DeRosse and Garrett Hollenbach combined for the 2nd shutout of the season. The Cougars continue their road trip and will face region opponent Atlanta Christian College on Saturday in Atlanta in a 3:15 p.m. match.
