Cougars Ride Kirkley's Dominant Performance to Sweep of Cedarville

(2/27/10) Clearwater, FL- The Cougars took the field for a game against Cedarville on Saturday night. Clearwater sent their sophomore ace, Brent Kirkley, to the mound. Kirkley had a dominant performance, striking out fourteen Cedarville Yellow Jackets as he pitched a complete game, giving up only one run on four hits. Junior first baseman Zack Webber and senior catcher Phillip Roscoe each added two hits. Albert Ulloa, Chris Zitnik and Ethan Barba also had a hit each. Clearwater won the game by a final score of 7-1. This marks only the second time in three years that the Cougars sweep an opponent.

The Cougars will be in action again on Tuesday, March 2 when they face Pasco Hernando.
