PCC Tops the Cougars 63-60


(2/15/10) Pensacola, FL- Clearwater Christian College lost a tough game 63-60 to Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. The game was a battle between 2 NCCAA rivals and was the 2nd matchup this season between the 2 teams as Clearwater had defeated the Eagles in the first matchup by a score of 86-78.

The Cougars got off to a great start, grabbing a quick 20-10 lead to start the game. Clearwater then went cold, scoring only 11 points over the next 14 minutes of the half to go into the locker room down 31-30.

The Eagles continued to take control to start the 2nd half, limiting the Cougars to just 1 point in the next 6 minutes as Pensacola built up their lead to 15. The Cougars responded and began to chip away at the PCC lead. Good second half rebounding and hardnosed play sparked the CCC comeback as the Cougars whittled the lead down to 3 points with about 10 seconds to go. After PCC missed a free throw, the Cougars raced down court with a chance to tie the game, but Lonzo Saunders' 3 point attempt at the buzzer missed as PCC celebrated the win.

Troy Hadlock led CCC with 17 points. He was followed by Lonzo Saunders with 14 and Todd Wahlberg who had 11. Bryan Spears led the Cougars in rebounds with 9. Clearwater finishes the regular season on a 3 game road swing to Piedmont, Toccoa, and Atlanta.
