Cougars Rally to Defeat Trinity


(2/3/10) Clearwater, FL- The Clearwater Christian College Cougars overcame a 20 point first half deficit to defeat the Tigers 89-76 on Tuesday night in the Cougars' gym. After falling behind early, the CCC men rallied behind Lonzo Saunders' 20 first half points to go into the halftime break only down by three, 47-44.

In the second half, the game went back and forth for the first few minutes. Then solid three point shooting by Troy Hadlock and Matt Wells jumpstarted the Cougar offense and allowed them to pull away for the final margin of victory. Saunders wound up leading CCC with 23 points. He was followed by Hadlock who had 18, including 14 in the second half. Wells and Todd Wahlberg chipped in 13 each and Bryan Spears had a season high 10 points. Spears also added 15 rebounds for the Cougars.

The Cougars will be in action again on Friday at home against Toccoa Falls College at 7 p.m.
