Lady Cougars Black Out Southeastern

(10/20/09) Clearwater, FL-In front of a packed "black out" gym of CCC fans, the volleyball team went up against Southeastern University for a second time this season.

In the first match up, Clearwater came away with a 3-0 sweep and hoped for a repeat tonight. From the beginning the CCC team came out strong with outstanding passing, setting and hitting. Especially strong was the defense of the Cougars who ended the night with over 3 blocks per game and 20 digs per game. Ashley Lawson served a perfect game with 18, two of which were aces. Alyssa Hallice, Emma Kile and Richelle Bucklin continue to lead the team in kills and Liz Ennis is settling into the setter's role quite nicely. The Cougars came away with another sweep over the Fire, winning 3-0.

This weekend the team will travel over to Hillsborough Community College to participate in another very competitive tournament, with two nationally ranked NJCAA teams competing. The first match is at noon.
