Clearwater Christian College Volleyball Takes Florida College

What appeared to be a great match up on Friday afternoon, proved to live up to all expectations when the Florida College Falcons visited the CCC gym. Two weeks prior, the Florida College team had easily handled the Lady Cougars presenting them with only their second loss of the season. The Cougars had beaten the Falcons at the beginning of the year, so the record stood 1-1.

The CCC team came out big in games one and two and won 25-13 and 25-14. Alyssa Hallice and Emma Kile played some outstanding front row defense shutting down Florida's big hitters, while also adding over four kills per game respectively. According to Coach Denny "our passing was so much better this time around, and we were able to run the offense. Chrissie Sugimoto and Ashley Lawson made some get passes and digs to help ignite the offensive game." During game four the game score went back and forth with neither team getting much of a lead. Florida College came through with a few huge kills by freshman Kerri Taylor and won 25-23. During game four the Cougars came out with a few critical points early and finished the game, 25-17 winning the match.

Later in the evening the Lady Cougars also defeated Highlands Community College from Illinois in three straight sets bringing Clearwater's record to 23-2.
