Cougars Drop Friday's Contest to Suns

Clearwater traveled to Kissimmee, Florida for an afternoon game on Friday afternoon at Johnson University. In a game that lasted over four and a half hours due to a rain delay, the Suns outlasted the Cougars 15-5.

JUFL broke out for four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Adam Rasmussen collected a two RBI hit with two outs to give them a 4-0 advantage.

Trailing 5-0 heading into the top of the third, senior Joel Felten hit a two RBI double to cut the deficit to 5-2. Felten was left stranded and was one of seven runners stranded through the first four offensive frames for the maroon and black.

The Suns capped off a fifteen run game with ten runs plated between the third and eighth innings. Freshman Nathan Stanley collected two RBI's on a double of his own in the Cougars ninth and Felten drove in one more run to total three RBI's in the game after his single in the last frame.
