Toccoa Falls Blanks Cougars 3-0

Clearwater couldn't muster together any runs against visiting Toccoa Falls College in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Frank Tack Park.

Sophomore Stephen Martin (2-3) threw a complete game, his fifth of the season, in the 3-0 loss. He gave up three runs, two earned, scattered seven hits, walked one, and struck out four.

Designated hitter AJ Mussler recorded an RBI in the top of the second for the first run of the game. TFC tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning after second baseman Josh Ward squeezed home a run, followed by an RBI double from shortstop Jordan Couillard.

Clearwater tallied just four hits off of the Eagles starting pitcher Dylan Charles. Charles picked up the win, throwing a complete game shut out, walking just one, and striking out Cougars.

The maroon and black left one runner in scoring position stranded in both the second and third innings. The Eagles had runners on base in every inning while the Cougars were retired in order over four different frames.

The loss drops Clearwater to 9-14 overall. Toccoa Falls improves to 13-10 with the win.
