The Cougars defeat Johnson University on the road.

Clearwater faced a very determined Johnson University team as they traveled to Kissimme last night. The first half had back and forth play early, but then the Suns took a 22-30 lead with less than 4 minutes to go in the half. Clearwater went on a run to close out the half with a 3 pointer by Mike Key at the buzzer to narrow the gap to 2 at the break. The second half saw runs by both teams, starting with the Cougars 8-0 run to begin the second half. JUF came right back with a 19-9 run of their own to take a 6 point lead with under 12 minutes to go. A 12-2 run by Clearwater gave the Cougars a 4 point advantage, but the Suns were not done, and came back to tie the game at 72 at the 5 minute mark. Clearwater answered that with an 8-0 run to take an 80-72 lead with 2 minutes left. The Suns had three straight 3 point plays, but Clearwater went 9-12 from the line in the last 2 minutes to seal the 91-86 win.
The scoring load was mostly carried by two players. Mike Key tied his season high with 45 points going 14-18 from the line. Eddie Moralobo up his career high scoring 21, he also added 9 assists. Devin Paularinne added 10 of his own to go along with 6 rebounds. Caleb Thompson pulled down 12 rebounds.
