The Cougars get back in the win column.

Clearwater Christian was on the road again last night, but this time it was only 45 minutes north as they took on Trinity College of Florida. Back on January 23rd the Cougars defeated TCF 83-67, but the game last night was much closer. The early going the Cougars trailed 6-12, and for the second straight game had difficulty scoring in the first half. The score at the break had the Cougars up by the smallest of margins 31-30. The start of the second was not much better, and the Cougar lead evaporated into a 5 point deficit 35-40. However the next 6 minutes belonged to the Cougars who went on a 18-4 run with the help of great team defense and easy baskets. The biggest lead of the night for the Cougars came at the 5 minute mark on a 3 pointer by Caleb Winfrey, to give Clearwater a 65-53 advantage. The final 5 minutes saw TCF make a run but timely rebounding and easy buckets gave the Cougars their 4 South region win of the season.
Clearwater had a balanced night of scoring led by Devin Paularinne's 20. Freshman Eddie Moralobo had his career high with 17, going 4-4 from the 3 point line. Mike Key had another double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. Colin DeHate scored 10. Paularinne and DeHate had 8 and 7 rebounds respectively. Erik McRae handed out 8 assists.
