NCCAA DII Recognitions in Soccer

Michelle Akers Award Winner and Player of the Year
Clearwater Christian College was well represented this week when the NCCAA DII announced its 2013 All-American Team of the Year and Scholar-Athletes for menís and womenís soccer. Leading the list was senior forward Tori Hale of St. Petersburg Beach, FL, who received the 2013 Michelle Akers Award for Womenís Soccer and NCCAA DII Player of the Year. Hale had the additional distinction of being named 2013 NCCAA DII Offensive Player of the Year. Tori was recognized for the second year in a row on NCCAA DII First Team All-American and joined by sophomore midfielder Delaney Lester from Bedford, TX, and freshman defender Naomi Reed of Naples, FL. Five members of the womenís soccer team were also recognized as Scholar-Athletes--Katie Cralley of Pinellas Park, FL; Rebecca Farrell of Lake Ariel, PA; Tori Hale, Madeline Tewes of Snellville, GA; and Anna Zweirs of Orillia, Canada.

For the men, goalie Garrett Hollenbach of Sellersville, PA, and midfielder Brian Chidarikiri of Birmingham, England, were both named to NCCAA DII Second Team All-American.
