Cougars settle for 2nd tie of the 2013 season in tough game verses USCAA #4 Florida College

The Lady Cougars played a game on their home campus field verses the #4 ranked USCAA Florida College Falcons hoping to avenge a 4-3 loss earlier in the year. The Lady Cougars dominated play early in the match getting several quality opportunities to score but were only able to come out of the 1st half with a 1-0 lead. The lone goal was scored by Sophomore Leah Zwiers, and was assisted by Taylor Endicott. Midway through the second half Clearwater dodged a bullet when goalkeeper Charity Nelson made a great save after Florida College was awarded a Penalty Kick. Florida College was eventually able to pull even getting a late goal with just 10 minutes remaining in the game. Tied 1-1 after regulation, the teams headed to sudden death overtime. Even after dominating the second overtime period including a shot off the crossbar Clearwater was unable to come up with the game winning goal. The game would end in a 1-1 tie.
