Graduates Heed The Call

On July 19, 2013, five Clearwater Christian College alumni were officially named missionary appointees with Baptist Mid Missions, one of the largest independent Baptist missionary agencies in the world headquartered in Cleveland, OH. Among those recognized were Joe (’06) and Bonnie (’97) Valentin who joined Bibles International, the Bible translation arm of BMM. Joe will serve as Projects Manager and be located at the home office in Grand Rapids, MI. Joe and Bonnie were serving on the CCC staff prior to this appointment. Their home church is Berea Baptist in Palm Harbor, FL.

Joining them are Mike (’03) and Michelle (’03) Hogberg. The Hogbergs plan to work among tribal people located in the southwestern region of mainland Alaska. These areas are typically accessible only by barge or air and dominated by traditional Russian Orthodox religion. Since graduating from CCC, Mike and Michelle have been working in law enforcement and education. Mike had obtained his pilot’s license shortly after graduating from CCC. Their home church is Community Baptist Church in South Bend, IN.

The fifth member of this class is Lydia Whitelam. Lydia followed her sister Kristal who graduated from CCC in 2004 but transferred to Old Dominion University to finish up her degree. Lydia is planning to serve in Peru. BMM has been active in this country for many years with church planting, radio, camping, Bible college ministries and Arthur G. Fetzer Memorial Christian Academy, BMM’s school for missionary children. Lydia’s home church is Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA.

Please join us in praying for these alumni as they enter their pre-field phrase. Individuals interested in learning more about their ministries should contact Baptist Mid Missions.
